makeup

It is a rainy day here in Wisco! I went to the tanning salon to pick up my check, and tan of course, then I went and picked up my last check at the bar and restaurant I used to work at, followed by a trip to Walmart and Walgreens to restock my makeup and beauty bin!!

Since I have become quite the makeup guru, I though I should share and tell a few of my favorite beauty and makeup supplies.

I used to think that price of makeup meant quality of makeup, however most of my favorite products are just drugstore brands. With this said though, I love all Smashbox products.... It is the one brand that I could use anything from!!!

I always start with a face moisturizer. The one Ive found that helps keep grease off of my face instead of adding more grease is Clean & Clear Dual Action. Another great thing about this is it helps fight blackheads as well as it is icy cool when applied! So between acne help and no greasy skin, I haven't found one problem with this moisturizer.

Next I use a primer. I have a whole list of primers that Ive found and loved.
1. Smashbox photofinish primers. I have tried all of them and it just depends on skin type and the finish you are looking for.
2. VS primers I also love. These are cheaper than the Smashbox primers, but I find them about equivalent.
3. Maybelline Baby Skin: Instant Pour Eraser. I just purchased this today because I have found it super hard to find at drugstores, but I have only heard great things about it! It isn't labeled as a primer, but it says it may be used under makeup to even the skin, which is exactly when primers do. Very excited to try this one!

After Primers it is time for a foundation. Foundations range from light to full coverage and anything in-between. Usually they are labeled LIGHT, MEDIUM, FULL.
Currently my favorite foundation is Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. It is a medium coverage but sometimes I lay it on thicker for fuller coverage. It is so soft and fluffy and so easy to lay on the face evenly covering my uneven skin. This can be applied with either the fingers of a foundation brush!

After the foundation i use a very light shade concealer stick to brighten up around my eyes, and cover any blemishes.

And onto the powder. You don't have to use a full coverage power with a foundation, nor do you have to use a liquid foundation with a full coverage powder, but I always do, not for the added coverage, but to set the liquid foundation. Right now I have a True Fit powder. I love the scent of it, there are many shades to choose from and the powder brush it comes with makes applications easy and quick.

After powdering is usually when I Put on eyeshadow. Sometimes i use a eyeshadow primer, the one I have is Urban Decay, but often times I skip the eye primer and go straight to eyeshadow. I don't think eyeshadows differ much, however I always use neutral shades!

After eye shadows I use a bronzer and blush. Ive found these francs also don't really matter, but once again it depends on the shade and finish you want. Right now both my bronzer and blush are VS.

To finish off I line my eyes with a liquid liner, layer my mascara and mist a finishing spray. I have only used VS priming and finishing spray, but it works like a charm and keeps my makeup in place all day.
